Excellent hotel in good location

The Arcotel is located quite central and has good access to public transportation. The room was quite big, clean with modern equipment. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a broad viarity of food.

Location
Located in a central Berlin, from Tegal Airport a Taxi is around 20€ and takes 20 minutes. Hotel is 15 minutes walk to Alexander platz, 5 minute walk to nearest station "Hausvogteiplatz" in which is just around the corner. Near this station there is an excellent bakery with all the best breads, sandwiches and cake Berlin has to offer.
Room
Room was very small (231) would not recommend for a couple but as a single traveller just about adequate. Considering the price they charge was quite disappointed with this room paid almost £70 on Agoda (no breakfast either). There is no separate bathroom but rather a shower cubicle built in to the wall, Toilet cubicle built into the wall and a sink right in the room behind the desk which is also one side of the bed. Bed does not have bed side table which was inconvenient if you like a drink closeby but was comfortable. There is only a small box of amenities that is ear buds, shower hat but no body lotion and soap is fixed wall in the shower. There was no complimentary bottled water at this hotel. The only a boutique feel to this room was the artistic bed head board and sink design. Room though was clean and quiet at night. TV worked well with 95% German channels.
Facilities
WIFI is free but only at a speed at 512mb so was rather slow and only for emails - wont work for streaming TV. You can choose to pay more though for faster speeds. Other facilities include 24 hour gym on top floor and saunas but only from 4pm-11pm but didn't get a chance to review this. There is a bar and restaurant by the lobby with boutique rocking chairs and looks rather cool. However expect to pay a lot more for your beer and sausage compared to a local authentic German bar.
Staff
Staff were adequately friendly at least at reception but not in other areas of the hotel, for instance in bar, lifts or floor- staff do not acknowledge you by saying anything- poor CS overall. However check-in was smooth and staff are helpful.

had a great stay in the arcotel john f. we arrived quite early so couldnt check in as yet, but the staff was very friendly and promptly suggested local activities (hop on/off bus) and provided us a map. the room was very spacious and well presented - though some might say a little bland - i'm guessing they're after the minimalist look, which was fine.
the location is good, not a long walk to the action. we were lucky that there was a festival on when we stayed - otherwise it probably is a little quiet.
in addition to the rocking chair our room had a large two seater sofa and small table.

The hotel although central on the map is some blocks away from the shopping and nightlife in Berlin. It is ideally situated for visiting museums etc. The room looked upon the chic apartments on the Caroline-von-Humboldt-Weg and was astonishingly quiet for its central situation. The youthful staff were very friendly and customer-oriented and helpful in every way. It is a pleasure to recommend the facility.

Nous avons passé une semaine à cette hôtel et nous avons adoré cela! Les employés sont super et souriant. Le déjeuner en style mega buffet est très varié et succulent! La chambre était propre et le lit confortable.
2 POINTS NÉGATIFS:
- le fonctionnement du WiFi par code est très très compliqué et vraiment trop cher! Il y a du WiFi gratuit, mais à la limite du trop lent... oubliez YouTube ou de la vidéoconférence! Et lorsque vous payez (vraiment trop cher) c'est un peu mieux pour la vitesse (max 1.7Mbps up/down) mais il faut sans cesse entrer un code et un mot de passe pour activer la connection! Vraiment insupportable! Pour cette raison, nous ne retournerons pas à cet hôtel!
- Il n'y a rien d'intéressant autour de l'hôtel. Tout est à au moins 15-20 min de marche.
Mais pour le reste, c'est un bon hôtel.

Si vous utilisez Internet assez souvent, n'allez pas à cet hôtel!
