I loved it here. The location is really close to everything. The rooms are clean, warm and cozy. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty... But a bit too expensive. Still, there are so many cheaper options around the area. I don't really have a bad word to say about this place. Would definately stay there again.

The closest Hotel to 'East Berlin' of old

We chose this hotel mainly because of it's location. It's just a 100 m away from Check Point Charlie. The hotel is small but comfortable, rooms are decent sized, the staff is efficient. I had to print out a rail ticket,and as soon as I mentioned this to the receptionist, she just handed me a card and asked me to e mail it to their address. When I came downstairs, she handed me the print out without my even saying a word. That's efficient!!!
We had breakfast included in our package. The breakfast was good but the seating was rather cramped.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
It's just a 2 minute walk from Check Point Charlie. For me that was the main attraction in Berlin and the hotel well served my purpose.

Just what we needed

We stayed for 3 night at this hotel. The room had just enough space for me and my wife. It's layed out very simple but with all the necesary things. There is an annoying green light out the window that really lights up the room. You have to tell the reception to turn it off at night if you go to bed early. Had toruble finding a way to contact the reception from the room phone. The staff is very helpful all the time. The location is just perfect to visit check point charlie, walk to Postdamer platz and walk on Friedrichstrasse. The price for the room was excellent at 85 usd a night.
Restaurant Tip:
agustiner, about a 7 block walk away from the hotel is excellent! get the pork shoulder... wow!

The staff at this hotel is turly amazing. They are so accommodating and even after check out I stayed at their lounge for a bit and they offered me travel adapter to charge my computer. The internet and suprisingly fast and the location is perfect for tourist who would love to visit Checkpoint Charlie. Less than a 2 minutes walk! Eventhough the room was quite small and did not have a fridge, it was not necessary. The toiletries was good though.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Checkpoint charli is just down the road!Go for it!

Exceed expectation

The hotel is very close to the tourist areas like Gendarmenmarkt, Checkpoint Charlie, Unter den Linden, Potsdamer Platz, etc. all within walking distance. The room is new and clean. It is not too big but comfortable enough. The front desk people always greet guests with a smile and handle check in/out very efficiently. They are also helpful in answering questions about the city.

The location of the hotel is great when it comes to tourist attractions, shopping and entertainmet. When it comes to indoors activities/hotel facilities, look for another hotel. The rooms are way too small and doesn't allow for any additional bagage/shopping bags. The walls are too thin and you hear easily what's going on in the neighbouring rooms.
