Excellent if you're on a budget

Conveniently located in central Berlin next to a train station surrounded by restaurants, pharmacies, shops, grocery stores, and as a added bonus outdoor market on weekends.
The staff are top notch; all friendly, helpful, and fluent in english.
The hotel has a restaurant in house, and a vending machine on each floor. Free wireless internet for the guests are always a very welcome feature. No connection problems during my stay.
Do remember though, that this is a budget hotel, and not a luxury hotel. The price was excellent if all you are looking for is clean sheets and a shower. Room provided was quite large compared to what you would expect in Paris or NYC, though it is probably standard for Berlin. View out the room window was pleasant, though in no way spectacular. The shower to my surprize worked very well.
Now to the cons: the building though properly maintained seemed somewhat old, the toilet although clean smelled quite strongly like an outdoor public bathroom ( in retrospect, I could have requested a room change, though too tired when I arrived to make that move. Definitely would have given a higher rating if it wasn't for this), no room amenities (just basic soap provided - recommend bringing your own if you have sensitive skin, no toothbrush, no mini fridge) .
In conclusion, unless you are strictly on a budget, you may want to spend a few more euros for a nicer place to stay. Not a honeymoon destination. On the other hand, if you are on a budget, for this price you really can't go wrong, and for the most part this hotel will be up to or will exceed your expectations. Clean room, friendly staff, free wireless internet. Good enough for most experienced travellers.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Many places to see within 30 minute walking distance. The Berlin Zoo and Aquarium is only 5 minute walk away. Take advantage of the train ( subway ) station that is only a minute walk away, and a 24 hour ( if I remember correctly ) grocery store for basic everyday needs. City is active at night, and quite safe to go out. Taxi fare to the airport ( Tegel ) from the hotel was a little over 16 euros; with tip expect to pay 20 euros total. You can also take the subway, then bus to the airport for a quarter of that price.
