I stayed at this hotel whilst spending a week at the University of a work exchange, so was here by myself. I arrived late in the evening and the staff were onhand to help with my luggage and check me in. In the morning they were more than happy to provide me with city maps, tourist guides and a bus route/timetable. The room was a great size, with a more than adequate bathroom - not too different to what I have at home! There was also a minibar, although I found it a bit pricey so didn't use it, but the mini-fridge was perfect for storing my drinks and chocolate! Room service came every day to clean and make up the room, which was nice. I found the room to be quite hot (I was there in June) but the windows opened right out which was great. The facilities onsite were good, and had pretty reasonable access times - I think 8.30 til 21.30 for the gym and pool. The pool was a little smaller than the photos made out, so more for relaxing than swimming, but there was a good sauna and hydrotherapy showers. There were also tennis courts, bowling alleys and a few other sports options, although I didn't use these so can't comment on the quality. There were a couple of bars and eating areas - I only ate once in the American Sports Bar and it was fine. The hotel is a little way out of the city so you would need either a car, or use of public transport. I actually rented a bicycle which is also a good option as it's a great way to see Braunschweig. There are bus stops just outside the hotel, and the fares are about 1EUR90. From the train station I was charged 7EUR in a taxi, which wasn't too bad. Although I didn't have a car myself, there seemed to be plenty of parking spaces for anyone who did drive.
