Nice Hotel with unexpected shortcommings

We have stayed at this hotel frequently and were member in the golf club since it went into operation some 30 years ago. Rooms are fine, yet this time we had infrequent turn-down service and poor replenishment of amenities and toilet articles including toilet paper.
The food quality at the restaurant has not lived up to previous standard and was very mixed concerning quality of preparation. Breakfast - usually a pleasant highlight - was a lowlight: No seating organization led to an "everybody grab a table atmoshere", it was hectic and noisy. Food replenishment at the buffet was poor and reduced available selection.
The recommendation to use the Atrium restaurant is good for the hotel capacity, but not for the guest. The restaurant atmoshere at the Atrium is poor and resembles that of a low cost budget hotel. Does not fit to the Steigenberger Standard.
Restaurant Tip:
Toscanello right across the street offers good quality Italian food.
Restaurant Lenz in Duvenstedt (probabbly two kilometers up the street) has excellent food quality and offers a wide selection.
Stocks Restaurant is another high quality restaurant, focus on fish, but also other selections.

Ett mycket bra hotell med stor rymlig parkering. Till hotellet hör en golfbana av hög klass. Det finns även en spa-anläggning med stor pool. Det finns också flera bra restauranger på hotellet samt en frukostbuffe som är av mycket hög klass. Allt är bra hotellet. Det ligger dock inte centralt det tar 45 min. med bil för att komma in till centrum. Hotellet har dock ett systerhotell med samma namn som ligger mycket centralt.
