I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, it's a no-fuss place where you can relax and unwind and which you can use as a base to explore Northern Germany. If on holiday, I'd definitely stay there for the three-day weekend package, but if travelling alone I would think twice about paying full price during the week. However, discounted rates are often available throughout the week. If not, there is an Etap hotel around the corner, which is almost as good, only the rooms are much smaller. Etap represents excellent value for single travellers, and even better value for two people sharing. But if you want to spoil yourself choose the Suite Hotel.
Travel tip : Free 10-minute massage once a week; supermarket that will spoil you for choice; city centre with various attractions 5 minutes' walk away. Fabulous food at the Brunnenhof Hotel/Wiener Cafe opposite the railway station and next to a gigantic electronics store. Buy a day pass for cheap travel on public transport. Half-hourly trains from the station to the airport, a 20-minute ride for less than EUR3.
