This is an excellent value hotel for seeing prime actor actions and shopping and dining in Athens. The breakfast is incredible with traditional Greece treats. The staff knows English well and is very helpful.

Reasonable Budget Hotel in Downtown Athens

We choose this hotel because of the great rate and the positive reviews. We were not disappointed. When we checked in, the staff member was very friendly and helpful, providing us directions and suggestions of areas around the hotel. The room was very large and clean with a lovely balcony and great view of the Acropolis. The bathroom was very spacious and clean as well. The room had a small refrigerator which was good for self-catering. There is a small supermarket about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The Monastiriki metro station is very close and surrounding that some of the major attractions such as the Plaka, the Acropolis, and Ancient Agora. Overall it was a lovely stay. The street outside of the hotel seems a little sketchy at night, but we didn't have any problems. Appearances aside, it seems quite safe.

Not a great neighborhood but overall a great hotel

while the hotel isn't in the greatest of neighborhoods, the staff was fantastic (helpful and great english skills), the room was clean, and the location is very near many of the major sites in central athens. we were able to walk to nearly all the destinations on our "must-see" list...which was great because all the public transportation was closed down due to strikes when we were there.oh, and the breakfast was really good. simple but filling and a great start to the day with the view of the acropolis and ancient agora.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Extremely close to the Acropolis, Ancient Agora, and many other top-notch sites. Just make sure to check the news before traveling to Athens/Greece. We had many obstacles due to various strikes while we were there in October 2011.

we are glad to choose this hotel for our first arrival in greece. good location with 5 mins walk from monastiraki station. breakfast was simple and nice with amazing view on roof top. room fearure was great and clean. however, would prefer a double bed instead of twin bed, also at night the street will be doggy.
