Mixed Feelings
Beautiful view over the Volcano, nice breakfast
7.3
The Good:
The hotel is new - this is it's 2nd year of service.
General areas like lounge and pool are very clean and well maintained.
The rooms are very spacious with terrific views over the Volcano.
The breakfast is excellent, either served a la carte in the Elia Restaurant, either delivered to your very own terrace.
Staff is very friendly and willing to help / assist tourists.
The sheets and (especially) the towels were fab, and they were exchanged daily.
The mattress and pillows were great as well.
Very nice and spacious bathroom, with Jacuzzi.
Free wireless internet on hotel premises.
The not so good:
Location: as other reviewers pointed out, it is quite far away from Fira... It can be considered "walking" distance, albeit not a really pleasant one. To fix this inconvenient, the hotel says it offers transfers to Fira for their guests, but since April isn't quite the main season, this service was not available. They tried (more or less willingly) to arrange some transport few times, but mostly we ended up using the local taxis. Fare was 5 Euros for a trip from the hotel to the Fira bus station. Anyway, for the guests that plan to hire cars, this will probably not be an issue. The hotel also has few parking slots by the entrance to accommodate them - but they might prove insufficient in peak season.
Food choices in Elia restaurant were quite limited (Club sandwiches, burgers, salads and some pasta & risotto), and overpriced; not what you would expect from such a remote hotel.
Other facilities / amenities advertised for the room type we booked were either not available (CD/DVD player, TV had a very poor signal and just few stations, no radio) or were only made available upon request (bathrobes & slippers).
Bathroom amenities were a mix of Neutrogena and Korres, and not Apivita as depicted by photos on their site.
Overall we had a nice stay, the "not so good" bits were probably consequences of this being still a very early season for them.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
if i returned to santorini, i would probably chose to stay in oia instead of fira. it has a more relaxed atmosphere, less shopping oriented than fira.

wonderful views
views from the balconies are amazing, breakfast delivered to your room is wonderful
6.7
-the junior suite (cheapest option) is very cute with a pink marble bathroom, separate bedroom with circular bed, and a little living room area.
-if your suite is towards the bottom, you will be walking up and down approximately 60 stairs to go from the room to the street level. there are no elevators. we had to take a break halfway up.
-the maison suite with a private pool is very nice, but pricey. the outdoor area is the best part about it. the inside of the suite is still somewhat unfinished. there were also a number of ants around the bathroom area. the bedding was very strange, looked almost as if the owner brought it from his own home. the bedding in the junior suite is much nicer. the inside of the maison suite is very basic, although there is a large with a jacuzzi in the bathroom.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
there is a hotel shuttle every 3 hours into fira town. taxis are not readily available until late night. if you miss the shuttle, you are likely to be stuck at the hotel until the next one or you can walk into fira (50 minute walk). there is a bus station in fira where you can catch a bus to get back to the hotel so the return is not a problem. however getting to fira is difficult if you miss the shuttle. the walk is quite long and there is a lot of donkey turd along the way as well as many geckos. that knocked off at least two points for this hotel for us.

New hotel, nice design with excellent views.
The suites are generously sized and the views are good

The wine tasting although pleasant overlooking the Volcano is grossly over priced for what it is.It is a boutique hotel with very limited food offerings, and what is offered is very expensive when compared to restaurants in the town of Fira. We hired a car which is a must, taxi service to the hotel is unreliable,Would not stay again for reasons mentioned above, nor would I recommend it to others.
Travel tip:
Stay closer to town for access to better food options.
