A good brand located in a bad area

Well I never expected that holiday would be located in a Bad area. The interior of the hotel lobby and room were old. Staff were not cheerful. Not Wifi system in the room. My room was facing the back side so the view Garbage.

Holiday inn Thessaloniki is so called 5 star hotel, but it is actually not. it is not located right in the center of down town but is reachable by foot.
my wife and i stayed there for 2 nights and the hotel can fulfill our basic needs.
one incident happened which i think it is worth sharing. I could not locked the window so I called Housekeeping to help. A man came and he could not locked as well. and he asked me why do I need to lock the window, and i said i needed to lock the window. eventually he fixed it.

Good location, small but clean decent room
This hotel is located at walking distance from central train/bus station and the major sightseeing area. There is a large supermarket 2 blocks away from the hotel, which adds more convenience. A room and bathroom was small but clean and comfortable. The hotel stuffs are generally nice trying to help you out for directions etc.

Cons: the stuffs never offered to help carry your luggage to your room or taxi. There is no free wifi, you need to pay 15euro for 24hours (only cable internet is available in a room); since one hotel PC in the lobby by which you can use free interent had a long line in the evening, I ended up with purchasing internet. Also, there were very few TV programs you can watch for free.
