City Hotel Matyas Budapest Info
The turn-of-the-century, neoclassical style building offers 85 guestrooms and is ideally close to the Vaci pedestrian street. The City Hotel Matyas is located in the heart of Budapest, and is just 100 meters from the beautiful Danube riverbank. It is also within a very short walking distance from Vaci Street, where guests will find a wide array of exclusive shopping boutiques, restaurants and bars. Many of the rooms offer panoramic views of either Castle Hill or Danube River and the Chain Bridge. The onsite restaurant serves Hungarian dishes and fine wines, and plays live Gypsy music. The three-star hotel is an ideal choice for its turn-of-the-century charm and its excellent central location.

Excellent service a friendly personnel.
Outstanding buffet breakfast. Best location in Budapest. No weaknesses, except for a small bathroom I have been staying at the Mathyas Hotel over the last four years and never thought to be staying at a different hotel. Arrived early in the morning and immediately was asigned my room.

was as good as always, excellent selection of food
especialy the wonderful coffee.The location is out of the world, streetcar and subway only minutes away. Will be back next December and will
naturally stay there again.
Restaurant Tip : Have dinner at Mathyas Prince restaurant even though a little expensive

ingressso ugly small rooms all the garbage out of hotel in smelly bins stay was very pleasant except for the heating that worked the breakfast was plentiful and satisfying. starting point for all tours in Budapest and very good. the staff was courteous and polite

Cleaning of the room and 'was decent. Good availability' by porters on duty for information or other information needed. quiet, no noise disturbed them shouting our stay. The entrance and 'dirty and dilapidated, it passes through the lobby of a building to find themselves in a sort of courtyard entirely closed. TV in room not working and no action taken at the request of being able to enjoy, no minibar, windows with curtains that covered an insufficient or the other side of the window, hairdryer absent. breakfast and 'served until 10:00 if you arrive at 9:30 but not found much' and quality 'foods and' really bad milk always cold, no croissants, coffee 'undrinkable, cereals dated, ultimately agrees to do breakfast outside the hotel for a coffee 'and a croissant or other sweet or salty, you find in every bar. No links to internet if not paid with signal only in the small lobby, but still wanting to connect to the network I tried to pay and does not work. Alternatively you can use their one terminal made available to customers with restrictions on navigation and clearly willing to turn only as a slight row. Staff practically absent there 'only the goalkeeper at the reception.
Travel tip : Good position to reach walking the main streets near the center of the street Vaci utca the most 'popular for shopping.
