City Hotel Matyas Budapest Info
The turn-of-the-century, neoclassical style building offers 85 guestrooms and is ideally close to the Vaci pedestrian street. The City Hotel Matyas is located in the heart of Budapest, and is just 100 meters from the beautiful Danube riverbank. It is also within a very short walking distance from Vaci Street, where guests will find a wide array of exclusive shopping boutiques, restaurants and bars. Many of the rooms offer panoramic views of either Castle Hill or Danube River and the Chain Bridge. The onsite restaurant serves Hungarian dishes and fine wines, and plays live Gypsy music. The three-star hotel is an ideal choice for its turn-of-the-century charm and its excellent central location.

Good price-quality ratio. The service was good. We got the room balcony, when we asked for it. In addition, we were able to log in the hotel in the morning.
Breakfast was not special, but ok.
We had the balcony room on request. Balcony was directly Danube. The room had no air conditioning, but it is hampered, even in July, it slept in the balcony door open. Overall, the hotel was a good taste.
Restaurant Tip : Expensive restaurants within walking on the street. From the hotel a few blocks south of the beach can be found in the street next to each other a good Greek and Italian restaurant where Appetizers, main course and a bottle of wine for two about 60-70 euros.

The building of the hotel is quite old. The location very good. The view is wonderful that you have. I can see the river Danube and Castle. Close to everything. The room is large but very simple. The staff are attentive.
The hotel could improve the cleaning. Mainly of common areas and access (entry). When we arrived outside the conditions of entry. others have stairs to enter. Nor have internet for guests.
The city is beautiful. It is worth knowing. The hotel could have a little more comfort. The rooms are large, so could be better used. A pity I missed the wonderful view of the river that has.
Restaurant Tip : In the same building there is a nice restaurant, it is worth going to see the night to gypsy songs. A good walk is the Opera started walking toward the hotel, you will find pleasant streets with several options for purchases.
