The great place for first-timers to Budapest
Most central location for public transport access
8.7
Fiest compliment goes to the welcoming, multi-lingual and talented reception staff, always at disposal with helpful advice. No need to comment the famous restaurant Matyas Pince.
Shopping Tip:
Not to be missed: the iundoor market hall. 10 mins walk from the hotel along pedestrian road.

Convenient location
Close to metro station and easy access for city sightseeing
8.3
The staff in reception was still friendly even I arrived the hotel after mid night (I did state for late check-in in the booking). It is less than 5 minutes walking distance to metro station - Ferenciek tere. There is a supermarket (Match) nearby and also very close to shopping street - Vaci utca. Room is a bit old and small but clean and tidy, good enough for budget traveller like me. If you live on second floor with big or heavy baggages, then you may need to carry them upstairs.

great hotel - to be recommended
Clean, simple, atmospheric, good price and good location

By staying in this hotel we felt closer to Budapest than in a 5 star hotel. It had atmosphere, it was well located and was clean. The price was good.

a hotel at a good location
The best point was a supreme location
7.7
the hotel was located at a good site, within a 3 minute walking distance from a subway station, near the vahtsy(?) street(the main street),near the elithabeto(?) bridge, near the pier for donube cruising.
the building has very old appearance, but a traditional european style.therefore rooms were from the reception. the entrance to rooms was separated with that for the reception.but the room was clean, and had an ordinarily largeness.it had a shower and a toilet inside.a hairdryer,an electric water-warmer(an electric device to make water very hot) were not equiped.
we did not have breakfast.so we did not make a review about it.the staff was in a stereotyped way.
after all, it had a good performance in comparion with the cost.
Travel tip:
The transport mesans in Budapesto were very convienitent.Of course about Subuway, trams, trolley buses, they were easy to be made use of. You had better get 24hour-free-ticket.

we came back
european charm, good location
8.7
had such a good time the first stay we came back. so convenient, lovely views of the river and churches. we noticed in the reviews that the entrance was a bit off putting, so we weren't alarmed. The staff was more than helpful, moving us to a better room, calling taxis etc. Price is very reasonable. Breakfast was separate and not too impressive
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The hop on bus was a great value. You can buy the tickets at the hotel desk and there's a stop right outside the door

what a delight!
right on the river, beautiful 'european' feel
9.3
The staff was wonderful, they moved us to a 'river view' when we asked, everything was great!
Travel tip:
Get the 48 hour hop on hop off bus pass, ride it once completely and then pick and choose. It was great!

Good large room. Would have been more comfortable with air conditioning as its was 36 to 38 the 3 day we were in Budapest.

Great location, but not for modern hotel lovers
Close to the metro station and most of the Budapest sights
8.7
we were given a twin room instead of a double room, as they apparently were not informed about our room type and they did not have any double room availale, so we were offered a double room where the window could not be opened (it was 42 degrees in budapest), so we decided to put the two beds together in the twin room and stop spoiling our experience. anyway the staff was very kind and very helpful throughout our stay. the rooms are nothing special and you can get much better rooms in budapest if you book in advance.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
There is a hop on hop off bus stop just in front of the hotel and the hotel offers discounted tickets for this for 48 hours. Together with the ticket you will get a bonus booklet, which is actually pretty good as it gives you discounts almost everywhere (ie both of the spas, restaurants etc).
