The most unpleasant experience ever. We booked and paid for the apartment 2 month in advance. At arrival we were told there were no available apartments and was offered a small dirty room by the toilets at a different address for the same price. Refused,went back to E.S. and after some shouting finally got our apartment. They did not seem to know for how long we booked the accomodation It turned out that there was no internet and tv -not even local freeview channels. When we were out somebody kept entering the apartment, furniture was appearing/disappearing from the room. We felt very unsafe and stressed, so only left our clothes there when going out. Horrible experience. Called Agoda from there, but did not help.
Travel tip:
I do not recommend this place to anyone. Others have been refused accomodation while we were there, an elderly couple amongst them, who have booked in advance and arrived to find out that they have nowhere to spend the night. Unprofessional, not reliable!!!

Inspite of Agoda's enormous lack of service, we had a lovely time in Emerald Suites. Thr manager is very nice and helped us out we Agoda screwed up bad. The apartments are located near Oktogon, which is a very convenient location. The apartment itself has a lot of luxuries (nice bed, lot of kitchensupplies, washing machine, etc). I would.really recommend this place but please, don't book it with Agoda! They will certainly fail you.

The apartment's kitchen is fully furnished. It has everything you need for cooking. Even a washing machine for clothes.

The apartment was centrally located, walking distance from the main street, the Opera House, the Cathedral and the Parliament of Budapest. The apartment was spacious, with plenty of room for luggage. It had a dining table, an extremely comfortable sofa and everything you needed for cooking, and for washing and ironing clothes. The building was recently refurbished and everything was very clean. It was an excellent choice for staying in budapest at a convenient price.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The apartment is centrally located. From there yuu can walk to the Parliament of Budapest and to other main attrations as the main shopping street, the Opera House and the Cathedral.

These apartments are new and modern. Cheerful reception staff around the clock. Amazing value for money in a central location. If you are wanting to be independent and settle in for a while, this is ideal. Top pick for Budapest stays.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Hire a bike but beware of the traffic. It seemed to be ok to ride slowly and considerately on the sidewalk. The roads aren't always accommodating to cyclists.

When I tried to check in for 2 nights I was told that we are not on the receptionists list. After about one hour standing and waiting (there are no seats) manager proposed to stay one night in the suites and then walk to an near by other hotel.
I was told this happens regulary. At least they helped finding a solution.

I was quite surprised when I got into the room at the Emerald Suites - they are huge! For the price, I'm not sure you can beat it. I had a separate bedroom with ensuite bathroom (with a washer/dryer) and a fully-equipped kitchen. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
It is a bit of a walk to get to any nightlife, but not too bad.
Nightlife Tip:
Around Oktogon Square, you will find a number of interesting pubs and bars.
