Hotel Description

Renovated in 2002, the 100-year-old building has 172guestrooms and is close to both the Eastern Railway Station and Vrosliget City Park. The Golden Park Hotel is within a short walking distance from the Eastern Railway Station. It is also a very short ride on the train from the city's main cultural attractions, such as the Fishermen's Bastion, and Parliament. Guests are close to the Arena Plaza, as well as a 10 minute walk from Vrosliget, which is Budapest's most beautiful city park. There are two onsite restaurants, which serve Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. The three-star hotel provides low prices, great service and comfortable accommodation in our hotel in Budapest.

It's directly at the Keletti train station, and although we were told it was an unsavory area, we did not see that at all and enjoyed being so central to the train and all that brings. Breakfast was nothing to write home about. It took two experiences to know what to avoid (ugly smelling omelet, watery yogurt and fruit salad), but we survived quite well with their coffee, bread and jam, boiled eggs and cheese. Hotel Feature Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor above reception, that was you will get wifi in the room, otherwise you would have to go to the lobby as the signal does not reach the room. Be aware that booking for a single occupancy gets you a room wi a single bed, not a double or twin which we found when we accidentally booked single due ton this description of the room. The hotel was very kind to put a cot in the room but for €20 which was more than if we'd booked correctly on agoda in the first instance.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Go up the Castle Hill.
