Just fine for the money

we stayed only one night in this hungarian pension, and the overall experience was quite alright. it is situated quite a bit away from the city centre, so either a 20 minutes walk or a short drive by car/taxi. the owners are really lovely and helpful. the room we had however was quite small and painted in blue (like totally) - so not much my taste. the shower was in the middle of the room with view to/from the bed, so there wasn't any privacy while in the bathroom, which i find quite disturbing. if you don't mind this, this pension could be a good choice.

Very friendly owners with basic room

there is no reception so the owners contacted us about when we would be arriving and even picked us up from the train station, which was very nice. the panzio was about 35 minutes walk from the train station and about 15 minutes to old town. it is also about 30 minutes walk to all the wine cellars. it is in a pretty quiet neighborhood on a big hill with some good views of the town in that area. the room was clean, but was pretty basic and on the small size. it had a nice kitchen on the first floor with a patio out back if you wanted to hangout at the panzio.

Great place and hosts - slightly out of the way

The hosts picked us up and dropped us off at the railway station. The kitchen/common area and patio were large and well equipped. The whole place was very clean. In a quiet residential area. Great wifi connections. It feels like you're in your own home. You can tell the hosts take a lot of pride in the house.
You gotta walk up and down a hill to get to and from the guesthouse. It's probably a 10 minute walk down to the centre and a 20 minute walk up. Not a horrible experience but you may want to take a cab if you're going to go get drunk at the Valley of the Beautiful women. The bathroom was very small but it had everything you needed (really appreciate all the hooks and handles in it to hang your stuff on). No A\C, so it can get fairly warm, but never unbearable.
