Beautiful Hotel by the Sea

Overall a good experience staying at the hotel. The receptionist were very friendly and helpful, and even though we have accidentally made a dial out from our room, because the amount was so small and we didn't have any iceland currency with us, she waivered it for us. This hotel offers panoramic view of the sea facing Mount Esja! Absolutely stunning! Breakfast were ok, even though the utensils were abit not-so-clean at times but it's acceptable provided with the kind service.

great hike to mount Esja, join day tour activities by excursion companies, whale watching

Great choice in the centre of the city

Centerhotel Arnarhvoll is located in the heart of the city, yet sufficiently shielded from the usual weekend noise & revelry. The reception is friendly. The rooms are small but smartly designed. One issue I had was with the shower area - the folding flap door does not cover the wet area and so it is hard to prevent water from splashing and seeping into the rest of the bathroom.
The restaurant on the top floor offers fine views of Esja and the rest of the city during breakfast.

Perfect location and brilliant view

The hotel is located near the center of the shopping area, which is just 3 mins walk away but yet away from the crowd and noise. The hotel is facing the harbour and has an excellent view of the mountains. Although we got a room facing away from that view, you still get the view in the restaurant.

In general, the view is excellent, however it is expensive and the same money can find much other "better value" hotel nearby. The location is not the best as compared with others.
I stay in hotel nearby that cost 40% less, but the quality is actually better. However if you love the view then is worth it.

arrived late in the evening, room at 3/f, nice view from room. everything is nice, heat on the floor, feel very comfortable. however, the shelf in room is a fault, very dangerous as easy to hit by head.
Shopping Tip:
Within 10 mins walking can reach the city main shopping area, good location.

Moments away from everything we needed in Reyjkjavik. Amazing view from bedroom and restaurant. Very helpful staff. Bed was of great comfort. Small bathroom though with no bath. Water tasted super clean.

Great venue, just at the start of the bar street, beds are a little smal, facilites modern and higher standard. Well insulated from sound but you do hear the occasional flight, kitchen only open for breakfast, so no room service.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Try to hit the Blue Lagoon, taxi was and then they wait 1h45m while you check it out. Jeep rental was about same price for 24h.

the room is a little bit too small and not enough cupboard to put clothes and things. the location is very good very near to main shopping street with a lot of parking space nearby.
The food and sauna are very nice. the restauranct is with nice view. the staff are all kind. an English group in the sauna with champaign glasses are anoing for other guests.

The hotel location is strategic and near to the main shopping area and Rekjavik old town. Information center is located nearby and within walking distance which is helpful in making reservations for excursions, air ticket etc. Lots of good and variety restaurants nearby eg japanese, thai and local islandic cuisine and hotel is near to bus stops. Room is new, neat and service is excellent with hotel staff helpful and conversant in English.
