Large, well appointed rooms, excellent breakfast,
scenic view Location is too far from city centre, reception desk people unhelpful and unable to answer even our easiest questions The Galway Bay Hotel is a lovely place to stay. Our room was very comfortable and clean, with excellent bedding, towels, and amenities. The free broadband internet and the pool/fitness center were also very nice. Our only complaint was that the people at the front desk were not helpful in that they did not know Galway very well and gave poor advice about driving, parking, recommendations for food or entertainment, shopping, laundry, etc. If the hotel would hire people who knew the area and were helpful, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. The other issue is that the hotel is not located close to the city centre and you will be required to either walk a distance or hire an expensive taxi.
Hotel Feature Tip : Check the hours for the fitness center. We thought it closed rather early and we were disappointed that we were turned away.
