I enjoyed the Castletroy Park. The staff were courteous, and the surroundings (garden, general ambience) was impressive. Mty room was a little worn around the edges but still very comfortable. The Merry Pedlar lounge bar served up decent food at reasonable prices. The hotel is wonderfully convenient if you are visiting the University of Limerick, with the centre of campus only 10-15 minutes walk away.
