Hotel Description

This former convent near the railway station is now a refined and intimate small hotel with beautifully decorated interiors. Around the corner from Santa Maria Novella train station and a block from the San Lorenzo Markets, the Machiavelli Palace Hotel occupies a 300-year-old building, now fully restored with some original features intact. Room decor is Renaissance-inspired with distressed furniture and rich draperies, while oversized balconies showcase beautiful vistas of the Duomo and the Florentine fondness for terracotta tiling. It's a ten-minute walk to the Duomo from here, a further ten minutes to the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery, while closer to home guests will find everything they need within a few blocks, from bars to bookstores to bicycle hire.

Ariya M. Solo travelers Thailand, April 16, 2013	Friendly staff, Big room,hub for exploring tuscany Staff, location, room 9 I stay here for 6 nights and everything is good. Staff are well supportive and surprise me by offering bottles of vino and fruits during my stay. The hotel is near to local restaurants, local supermarket and about 15 mins walk to Duomo. It also closes to train station where you can catch trains to explore tuscan area or buy day tours as most of them start trips from the train station. The room has good space and clean. Breakfast is also good.

Water heater was not working properly. Limited range for breakfast. There was no electronic kettle provided in the room. The only thing I liked was I got a high-level room with balcony that overlooked the church and of course the roof of the buildings nearby.

Solo travelers Singapore, April 06, 2013	a gem right right in the city location, staff attentiveness and comfort 8.3 this is the hotel to stay if you want to be close to all the major attractions and train station. all major attractions are within walking distance and just right down the streets there are many good restaurants and eateries to enjoy. it is a 2 minutes walk to the train station which allows you to take trains to pisa, rome or whereever you want to go. this hotel is superb for the price i am paying for it. i will definitely stay here again if i am visiting florence.
