This quaint older-style hotel near the train station is ideal for tourists wanting to be close to transport and the Duomo. A five-minute walk from the S Maria Novella railway, the San Giorgio and Olympic Hotel is a family-run enterprise with excellent access to major Florentine landmarks. Just down the road from the San Lorenzo Markets, it�s in an area with lots of small businesses � convenience stores, net caf�s, laundrettes and the like �and within easy walking distance of restaurants and good-value trattorias. Rooms here are regularly updated � the style is classic Florentine � and English-speaking staff can help with local recommendations and gallery bookings. The Uffizi is around a 20-minute walk from here, a little bit longer for those who can resist window shopping or gelato-eating along the way.

No service mind and lousy air cond.
The hotel is located near the train station so it is easy to walk. The room is quite tidy but some facilities in my room were not working. For instance, air condition was so noisy and not cold as set. The water from the shower was too hot to take a bath. I had asked the hotel to change the room or get somebody to check my room but they just said that there was no one available and no room to switch. So I was not sleeping well while staying in this hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Duomo and Uffizi gallery is a must to visit.

it's in the great location, very close to all the great sights in florence. 3 minutes by foot to Duomo, 3 minutes by foot to the railway station. the breakfast is very nice. the rooms are clean, the service is great, the staff is very helpful.

we really enjoyed our stay in florence and the hotel added a lot to it. it's in a great location, very close to everything, they have some good breakfast and fiendly staff. it's very close to the market area and there are many great restaurants around.

Very centrally located, nice breakfast
The elevator was slow and small
Well situated, close to major attractions and near major station. Th hotel offers good value for money and was clean with friendly staff.
It was certainly not a 5-star hotel, but more that satisfactory for one who travels to Florence without the intention of spending their time at the hotel.
