This historic villa on the bank of the Arno mixes pool holiday with artistic pilgrimage.

East of Florence�s main tourist area, the Ville Sull�Arno Hotel is a relaxed property with a proper holiday feel a 20-minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio. Once a school for Italian impressionists, the villa�s waterfront position offers views over the Arno that could inspire even the least creatively-inclined to put paintbrush to canvas. A pool compete with deckchairs and lifeguard is a welcome addition in Florence�s dry summer months and nearby there are plenty of restaurants and shops refreshingly free of the tourist tariffs and largely free of travelers themselves.

This position just outside the center of town is also well-suited for self-driving guests or those with a yen to cycle around the city.

I think this hotel is a little noisy. Sometimes the next room's noise was heard even at midnight.
