Beautifully restored villa, furnishings, wonderful breakfast, lovely staff

we stayed here for the last 2 nights of our trip to italy and apart from the hotel in florence (which cost 3x the amount), it was the best value of all the hotels we stayed at and exceeded our expectations, despite their nicely done internet web page. The villa is beautifully renovated with a french flair, and the rooms are immaculate and very generous in their size. The breakfast is in keeping with the generosity and elegance of the place, and served by the owner who is friendly and professional. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and my only regret is not having more time to stay there. If i could, i would have stayed there a week for the peace and quiet. i would also have tried their dinner which looked delicious.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : you can use lucca as a base to visit cinque terre and positano, as well as other places in tuscany. you will need private transport to access this hotel as it is not in the city of lucca. it is well signposted but be careful turning in and out of the gate as the road that runs past is narrow and on a bit of a blind spot. get GPS!
