The surrounding area is filled with many business addresses, financial institutions, as well as shops, restaurants and entertainment outlets. The onsite restaurant serves Italian and international cuisine, as well as an extensive wine list. The English-style bar plays jazz music. The three-star hotel provides guests with well-appointed accommodation as well as a great location by the subway station and railway station.

Close proximity to a couple of Metro stations/Central train station, rooms comfortable, good shower
Internet room is a rip off - they appear only to have dial-up and I took 10 minutes to get through 2 webpages.. had to give up and find somewhere else to print off my boarding passes. Room service/restaurants quite pricey for what they were too.
I felt that the Doria was a reasonable hotel, but nothing special given it's 'Grand' name. The staff were pleasant, the rooms were adequate, but the noise in the other rooms was easily audible from my room.
The internet room there is an absolute joke. I paid to use the room, at an extortinate rate, only to find that they had what seemed to be a dial-up connection that did not work. I was unable to get further than the google search results page in 10 minutes, shocking..
This aside, the location may be a fair distance from some of the more interesting parts of town, but the metro is one of the more reliable I have used in Europe and their travelcards are very good value for money.
I would probably stay at the Doria again, but next time I'd hope that their net connection was upgraded to broadband...
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Definitely go for the travelcards at the metro station and hit the canal area in Porto Genova. Buy these from the machines. The machines have a language selection button, which makes purchasing very easy indeed. Loads of trendy restaurants/bars down in the area that serve delicious food and stunning ice creams too..
