Imperfect experience, but good hotel

The location of this hotel has it's pluses and minuses - close to the train station, but not as close as it seems at first, in that you have to walk all around the station to get to it. It is superbly located for taking the train to Ercolano.
My experience was marred by the first room I was allocated having a toilet that was broken, and a phone that didn't work. However, they were prompt (if not overly graceful) to give me another room.
The 'bar fridge' is now in the form of a drinks machine in the corridor, which is a bit of a pity, as it means you don't have a fridge in the room.
I was surprised at how bad the map the hotel gave me of the town was - it lacked street names for all but the biggest streets and no labelling of areas of interest, so for example I was unable to find the street where nativity figures are sold. It did have sights of interest marked.
I also really don't get the theory behind providing free wifi in public areas and charging in rooms - it just makes for a messy foyer.
The rooms are well appointed, the curtains good and heavy. I loved having a huge bath to soak in at the end of the day. It was also a rare pleasure to find both shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom.
The breakfast was a good spread, with the usual hot dishes, cereals, fruits, and an impressive array of cakes.
All in all I had a good stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Go visit the archeological dig at Ercolano - more compact than Pompeii, and in some ways in better condition.

For the price, we were surprised how cheap a 4* hotel was.. but on arrival, we understood why. As with all train station locations, the surrounding neighbours are quite "unique", a mix of illegal immigrants, litter stain the surrounds..

Central location, very basic cheap hotel

it is ver basic hotel. it is old and bathroom needs update. however, it is very close to central station which makes it easy to move around the city. be careful when you cross the road infrnt of the hotel as there is no traffic light n naples people drive crazy.
