The 15th century building has 32 attractive guestrooms and is conveniently situated in the historical center of Rome. The Hotel Columbus is 30km from the Leonardo Da Vinci Airport. Located in the historical center, the hotel is less than 200 meters from St. Peter's Church and Vatican City. Guests are also close to the major shops, restaurants, entertainment venues and museums, as well as the Opera and the Tevere River. Guests can dine at the exquisite onsite restaurant, which serves regional and international specialties. Location to Vatican Peace and relaxation Friendly and helpful staff Spotless, rooms cleaned, and towels changed every day.

Rooms need updating Price of a bottle of water was €6.50 Air conditioning was not very effective and was extremely warm, when I opened the window to try and cool down I got mosquito bites

The hotel is a beautiful old monastery and the location is superb, 50 feet from the vatican and very quiet and relaxing. A beautiful garden to have breakfast in or wind down after a days touring. The staff were really helpful and had a great knowledge of any questions about the area. The air conditioning was not great and though I had it up full the room was still very warm. The room was kept spotlessly clean with fresh towels every day. I ordered a bottle of water one evening and was charged €6.50 for it so I was reluctant to go to the bar again. The positives outwayed the negatives and if this hotel was modernised and updated I would return again and again.

Restaurant Tip : Watch the added service charge in the restaurants . We were charged 33% one evening which almost doubled the price of a very unsatisfactory meal. They have little or no english and will not listen to your complaint. The staff are generally not very friendly and easily irritated if you can't speak the language.

The room we booked thru you. Location

Room on first night w/tour group.

Oor first room was awful and the manager would not give us a different room - even though our tour director asked. She did get us a different room the next night while working with a female manager. The night we booked through you we had the best room of the 4 nights we stayed. We never ate there as it was extremely expensive. Breakfast was included and it was ok. The female manager was also helpful getting us a train schedule. The desk staff on our last day (6th/7th) were also very helpful and polite.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : You can walk to the Vatican, St. Angelos,and Piazza Navona.We also walked to Trevi Fountain.

In the Columbus hotel in Rome I spent a good time; the staff was very kind and on hand, breakfast was copious and tasty, the room was clean, spacious and comfortable but, and this is the only negative observation, it was not lighted enough.

Restaurant Tip : Must visit Tre Pupazzi.
