Piazza Venezia Hotel, Rome

There are no cars in Venice. I only made that connection when asking a taxi driver at the bus drop-off point from the airport to take me to the hotel: "I cannot take you there, it is in Venice." Fortunately, the bus depot is just a few minutes walk (albeit crossing two canal bridges) to the hotel. But trust me, it is much easier to walk to the hotel than to take a water ferry to a hotel further down the canal as they are overcrowded and have a baggage limit (1 bag per person). The hotel is old but clean. Our room overlooked the canal, but it was pretty small and the television (just fyi...there is a lot to see in Venice that you don't need to watch TV) did not have any English-language channels. The breakfast in the back courtyard was probably the nicest hotel breakfast I had on my trip and the setting is quite peaceful. And the hotel's positioning at the start of the water ferry system makes getting around easy.

The facade of the hotel itself is a small glass door between located in the same building bars. By accessing the hotel the first thing you feel - strange smell from the kitchen Toli bars located on the first floor of the hotel, Tolia of powder, which is used in washing clothes, pastel linen. When we climb to the residential floors - attention privle repents decoration of walls and doors of the hotel - paintings in the style of graffiti (I did not like - but then everyone has his own taste). Classically decorated only half of the 4 th floor. The doors are very thin - virtually no noise insulation. We hear talk from the neighboring rooms, as well as noise from the corridors. General impression that the hotel was converted by student e hostel or motel, although the interiors of rooms are interesting enough. There are problems with the technique, which the hotel staff in no hurry to fix. TV channels only in Italian language (+ one in French). Breakfast and generally any other cuisine in the hotel available. Staff friendly, but not in a hurry to help. Maids do not react to signs "Do Not Disturb" But still not be asked whether to remove the number and do not need any new towels. Room rates are acceptable, so if you do not expect to hold in the room a lot of time, this option can be considered satisfactory combination of price and quality. If you value your comfort, I recommend to choose another hotel.
