(Well) Hidden Gem in Rome
Great breakfast served in your room each morning, very friendly and helpful hosts, nice updated décor, proximity to Rome's city centre (about 20-30 minute walk from the main attractions)

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Trastevere 209 Guesthouse, except maybe the first few minutes... We arrived there late on a Friday night, and hopefully we had booked an airport transfer via Agoda, because I am not sure we would have ever found that place.
The building looks very residential, and there is absolutely no sign outside letting you know that you are in the right place. Luckily, our driver knew where to go and even rang the door bell of the Guesthouse to let our host know that we were there.
Once you are buzzed in, you go through a very cold lobby (looks like a hospital by day, and a prison at night), then go in a small, old, shaky elevator that fits only 2 people with (not too much) luggage.
Happily, once you actually get to the Guesthouse, you can relax and enjoy the quiet & well appointed apartments. A fantastic breakfast brought to your suite entry door every morning just seals the deal. We just wouldn't recommend this hotel for single ladies, as the area can be a bit scary at night.
Overall, fantastic trip in Rome, 5 minute walk to wonderful Trastevere, which has great nightlife and restaurants.

don't be alarmed by the building and if no one in the building knows that the guest house is there. i recommend calling the hotel before you even get a taxi or walk over. he wasn't there when my boyfriend and i arrived and we had to wait a while before we could get in. also, the breakfast is mediocre at best so i recommend just getting a place that doesn't include breakfast to save money.
