Surrounded by a beautiful park and aromatic rose garden, the Garden Hotel offers guests the serene and peaceful accommodation they require. The hotel is located outside the city walls and is not hard to miss being one of the most elegant and refined buildings in Siena. The building housed a Villa in the 1700s but is now used as a hotel that can accommodate a large number of guests within the 125 fully furnished rooms. The hotel has three annexes opposite the main building, each one equipped with 23-25 rooms. Guests can take in the fresh air as they stroll around the park or they can take a dip in the large outdoor swimming pool.

Dated hotel but good for city stay.

This hotel is quite dated, with old furnishings and bathrooms but with fairly decent sized rooms. Where the furnishings lack the staff make up for with friendly attitude and assistance. The waitress in the restaurant was particularly lovely and very helpful. Breakfast is ok, not amazing but the coffee is decent and the meals at dinner are ok too and affordable. The grounds are very nice and the view from the hotel is lovely.

The hotel was fair value for the price we paid. The hotel is just a little to far out of sienna town centre to walk to town, however an excellent bus connection from the street below to and from Sienna central was available running every half hour for approx 1 euro cost. It takes about 7-8 minutes to get into the centre.
Breakfast was fine, our room was on the smaller size, probably because we booked late and it was the only one available.Wifi was only avaiable with a service charge , which should have been included In the price.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Sienna for us was a 2 day stopover, then we moved on to San Gimignamo, with a bus trip that took about 2 hours although on the map the 2 towns seem quite close together, it required a transfer at Poggibonsi.

Best hotel we've stayed in for a very long time

The room was excellent, the staff courteous, efficient and extremely helpful. Great choice of music (jazz) in the bar which also served a huge variety of tapas-style food (free of charge). We had dinner on our second night there and wished we had eaten there the night before as we were only staying 2 nights. The food, the wines and the service were all first class. The hotel was spotlessly clean. We swam in the pool and sunbathed in the garden after a hard day's sightseeing - bliss and the icing on the cake - great value for money.
