Delicate Venetian interiors adorn this restored former palace, a five-minute walk from St Mark's Square. Right in the tourist center of Venice, the Best Western Ala Hotel is a happy convergence of history, modernity and good service. While the location itself is difficult to beat, the property's deluxe furnishings -- Murano chandeliers, embossed bedspreads and the like, give this Best Western a boutique quality and a strong sense of the city's history. The hotel is old-fashioned in decor only and rooms include LCD TVs, aircon, minibar, modem port and chic modern bathrooms. The Ala Hotel is not short of vistas, either.
