Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

This hotel is charming in every way. What was once the town's jailhouse has been turned into the coolest BnB. You sleep in cells (with none of the discomforts of old days), have breakfast in the old chapel and take you coffee in the interrogation rooms. Put on your striped pyjamas and savour the nostalgia - it's the details that make this place unique: heavy steel cell doors, original stairs and brickwork, all updated to the standards of modern times. Location is perfect, just a short stroll to the centre of Almelo.

loveliest hotel I've ever seen
very nice, interesting environment, lovely staff (owner?)

I was welcomed by (probably) the owner, she showed me around. There's a bar with self-service coffee machine downstairs, breakfast on the first floor, rooms, or should I say cells are in the main building.
I didn't know the building used to be a prison (it's trivial if you speak Dutch) (also trivial if you look around). The rooms used to be the cells. My room was on the 2nd floor, actually the size of two cells, modern Everything really nicely decorated, very well run hotel indeed.
Breakfast continental, delicious.
