Good : It is a nice, clean and comfortable hotel to stay at. Even though it is not located at the city center, but it is inconvenience to take public transport to the down town (only 15 minutes). Also, the room are large and have a comfortable beds.
Bad : The hotel room a bit old.
But overall speaking, this hotel is value for stay.

Design of the rooms was beautiful, it was a 5 minutes' walk from the central train station, very close to local leather markets

Location, very pleasant European Breakfast and open, friendly foyer facilities

Its the second time I have stayed there. The only downside is the rooms are small and a little too basic. Apart from that my stay has been very pleasant. staff are helpful and nice and I loved the brekkie and the ambience of the foyer area. Once you are inside the Hotel you feel quite comfortable.

The room was very comfortable and spacious. The room fittings were also well maintained. The buffet breakfast also provided a great start to the day with changes to some of the main courses daily.
The hotel also provide complimentary shuttle service to Schiphol airport every half an hour, which was very convenient. However, the location of the hotel meant that travelers have to travel further to explore the highlights in Amsterdam. The nearest metro station is a 20-30 minutes walk away.
All in, the hotel stay was pleasant and value for money.

I enjoyed the stay. It had the right combo for me of price, locale, intimacy and friendliness. Next occasion I visit Amsterdam I will choose the Mercure Schipol again...

Please be aware that the map/route for bus travel into town is generic, not providing detailed info on drop off/pick up points and times.

This is a good hotel for business traveller to stay near the airport. Peaceful place. However not recommended if you want to stay for sightseeing in Amsterdam.
