This hotel next to the Royal Tropical Institute offers contemporary rooms with views over Oosterpark, only a ten minute tram ride from the city center. The Tropenmuseum is next door, and the famous Waterlooplein flea market is a ten minute walk away. The tram stops just outside the hotel and connects with the historic city center in about ten minutes. The Nh Tropen Hotel in Amsterdam has spacious rooms decorated in colorful modern Dutch style, well maintained bathrooms, satellite TV and wireless internet access which is available throughout the hotel. The on-site restaurant serves excellent Dutch and international cuisine overlooking Oosterpark and the hotel is in a lively area with local pubs and restaurants.

Nice location, good access to trams to go to town, easy access to supermarket across the street and for asian food lovers, there's a little asian place about 5 minutes across the street.
small toilet and it was dark. smells horrid as there was no ventilation.
I would definitely recommend the hotel again. It's near the amenities and has easy access to transport (i.e. trams). Also, the reception area was pleasant and the hotel personnnel were polite. They also provided 15 minutes free access to the internet and wifi which made it easy to do online check ins for flights.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Buy the tram tickets at the supermarket and you only need one to be shared between the 2 of you. Buying it on the trams may be a little more expensive.

The hotel was situated very nice, rooms were ok and clean.
Balcony door was not open, no mini bar.
The hotel is situated very nice and the hotel staff were very friendly. The breakfast was simple but ok, only the chairs were not ok. If I moved back and forth the chair almost fell apart. Overall, in combination with the price we paid for the room, we would surely come back again.

- Good priced.
- Nice rooms.
- Good transportation to centre.
- Breakfast room not very nice.
It's a good hotel, just outside the centre, but easy access with tram and buses.
When booked at Agoda it is nicely priced.
For sure I would recommend this hotel to other travelers.

From the Circular road East (A 10), exit at Diemen/Watergraafsmeer (S113). Then turn left at the traffic lights in the direction of Diemen/Watergraafsmeer.
You will now reach the Middenweg, turn in the direction on the city centre and continue straight ahead. Middenweg turns into Linneausstraat where you will find the property
