Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Good Hotel on Good Location
Good rooms, good location, friendly service
9
This hotel has modern and good rooms. It is in a good location, not in the busy city centre, but close enough to get you there in 10 mins. The staff is very friendly and efficient. And lastly... if you like good food/wine; the restaurant is excellent!

parking charge at €36 per day is extortion, a complete rip off. not justified would never stay there again just for that reason alone.

High expectations but disappointed
Nice hotel in terms of looks, grand lobby.
3.3
Hotel looks really grand from outside and an impressive lobby to boot. But our experience there is well below my expectations and to be honest I do not have high expectations. We booked a canal facing room ( extra charge ) and requested for a large bed. We were given a room which is newly renovated and facing the canal on the top floor with a large bed. Everything up to this point is perfect.
We checked in very late as I had a day trip in Cologne and drove up to Amsterdam in the evening, reaching about 10pm. So we got ready for bed and this is were the problems started, when we use the bathroom. (1) the sink is choked. (2) the dustbin was not emptied and there were rubbish from the previous occupant. (3) the toileries were not topped-up. There is a tissue box to only 1 piece of tissue remaining.
We explained the situation to the reception and asked to changed to another room. Obviously the maintenance team did not do a good job and the room is not prepared for us properly. We were told that there is another room and given the key to a room in the 3rd floor.
The room on the 3rd floor is a totally different story. It is not renovated. The furnishings were very old with 2 small separate beds and there is no safe ( something that is a must for me ). We immediately went back down ( carrying our large luggage at 11pm now ) to the reception to ask for another room. We were told: There is no more rooms facing the canal anymore except suites. There is nothing they can do. The attitude is in short : "Take it or leave it". So after some consideration, we asked to move back to our first room on the 6th floor and the staff informed us the choked sink will be resolved the next day. In the night, we cannot use the sink.
Other grosses : Hotel did not top up expendables that were used ( empty ). Internet is payable at 15 euro per day.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Of course a visit to the red light district is a must for first time travellers there.
There are, apart from the obvious, nice food in the area. Usually we try local cuisines where ever we are but I was craving for some roast duck/pork and when to a Chinese restaurant called Yong Kee. They have fantastic roast pork/duck. And the dumpling soup is quite authentic!

Great canal views
Good atmosphere, nice breakfasts with canal view
9.3
rather far from city center, but not a problem if you enjoy quite accommodation and walking. many amenities: rental of bikes, scooters, boats in the summer. and friendly staff through out the whole hotel. a relaxed way to explore amsterdam.
Travel tip:
Chose a room with canal view. Close to conference centre RAI.

Lovely hotel in a nice location away from town
Great views of the canal from my room
7.7
Reception was friendly and professional, however, the concierge was grumpy and not helpful when he gave my taxi to someone else. Rooms are clean but small. Room with a view on high floor so pleased with that. Walking distance from No. 5 tramline to city centre.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Take No. 5 tramline to city centre £2.50. Avoid taxis as they cost about £25 from train station.

Comfortable hotel with friendly service
very friendly service. the front and bell desk attendants treat every visitor as the most important person.
9
located in a quiet neighborhood within 15 minutes walk from the rai convention center, the beatrix park and minutes from the nearest tram stop to amsterdam or to the amsterdam zuid station that allows access to the national rail system. the service is excellent and the attendants treat you as a vip. at busy times of the day, there is little back-up for the front desk so occasionally extended wait was necessary. however, when it is your turn, the staff shows great patience and will not short-change your service because they are busy. in room amenities are more than adequate though a little renewal bathroom stalls would further enhance the comfortable stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
While Amsterdam is a 10 minute tram ride away, so is access to the rail road station to various Dutch cities.
