Stayed for one night to explore the city of Groningen. Hotel is 10 min walking from central station and perfectly located on the city's main square. Only negative was that the hotel's wifi wasn't working.

Ideal location - but don't come by car
The hotel ist directly on the market place, ideally located for exploring the city. The rooms are a bit on the small side, but comfortable and offer everything you need. WiFi is free. The adjoining restaurant (The Three Sisters) is quite good as is the breakfast buffet.

We had quite an enjoyable stay for the reasons mentioned above, especially because everything in the city is within walking distance.
A really negative aspect - but most likely beyond the control of the hotel - is the fact that you don't stand a chance to get close to the hotel by car, because of the city's traffic regulations, which are strange - to put it mildly. There is a multi-storey carpark about 500 m away, but you only find out about it, when you have finally reached the hotel.
The interior (especially the rooms) is a bit faded. And don't open a window (they open to the inside) to enjoy the view better. The last cleaning must have occurred a (very) long time ago, so your clothes get dirty.
Travel tip:
Groningen offers quite a few sights. A boat tour on the canals (1 hr) is recommended - € 11. There is a considerable number of cafés and restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel.

Great location and a great place
Location and not part of a chain

I stayed 2 nights travelling to see a band. It's a great place and nice that it has it's own character - not part of a chain of hotels. I'd stay again.
