Hotel Description

A family owned hotel in the heart of Bergen, with a rich history. The wine bar of the Augustin Hotel dates back more than 400 years, much of the rest of the hotel was built at the turn of the century in the Art Nouveau style, and today this service oriented, award-winning hotel is one of the most popular accommodation choices in Bergen. Probably the fastes check in ever experienced using Agoda voucher, less than 1. min. Ok lobby with free coffe. The room was pretty small compared to other hotels. Free internett in room. All over the stay was 4/6 Shopping Tip: Close to many shopping mals

The reception was nice but old fashioned. As the hotel was situated on a main road we asked for a quiet room at the back. The room was very quiet but was like a throwback to the 80s - old style bedspreads and furniture. I cannot comment on the waffles that everyone talks about receiving mid afternoon because even though we arrived at about 2.30, the staff did not bother to tell us. They were very polite but certainly did not go out of their way. Also, had much better breakfasts than at this hotel. A lot of the breakfast was salad based ... potato salad, coleslaw, beetroot, pasta salad. There was little choice other than this. I think 3 choices of cereal, a small selection of cheese and cold meats, a small selection of bread. Beans and scrambled eggs were the only hot foods offered. All in all it was just an okay experience. On the plus side, the rooms were spotless and there was free internet in the lobby which was great.
