Demonstrating Northern Europe�s forward-thinking attitude towards the environment, this green hotel is made almost entirely of recycled materials. Located west of the city center in Skolen, the Scandic Sjolyst Hotel is a few minutes� walk from the nearest tram station, less than a ten-minute ride from the city center. Part of a popular Scandinavian hotel chain, this property looks after its corporate guests and traveling families with special features like free wifi in public spaces and free accommodation and meals for children under 13, plus a change table and microwave available for communal use. Both the rooms - newly refurbished - and the food reflect modern Scandinavia, the coffee served onsite is Fairtrade and for the truly carbon-aware, bicycle are rented from reception.

The best feature would definitely be the breakfast, but also - the room was spacious, nice bathroom with underfloor heating, tea and coffee making facilities in the room, extra fast check in and check out, a very positive stay The distance from the city centre - too far to walk but easily accessible by buses, the number of English channels on TV, the shower flooding the whole bathroom The whole stay was very nice, distance to city centre, it is actually 4 kilometres but close to the Bygdoy peninsula with a lot of museums. Apart from that, the area where the hotel is located is very modern and trendy, breakfast was amazing, room quite nice and spacious, tea and coffee making facilities in the room although not stated in room description so that was a bonus considering prices in Oslo, comfy beds, quiet. The value for money - I would say it's overpriced but still one of the cheapest nice hotels in Oslo, as the prices there are outrageous!
Hotel Feature Tip : If you like to start a day with a good breakfast, this hotel will definitely match your requirements. The breakfast is so bountiful and versatile everyone will find a lot for themselves.

-There are many Scandic Hotel in the same city to choose from.
-The room quite big.
-The people at the front desk seems fine but when there was a problem occurred, then they didn't helpful. Some people seems like they were hired to be there and do what they, no help and bad attitude. This hotel is perfect for business people coz its very close to many business building , you can also take a tram 3-4 stop into the mid of the city take a walk around the tourist places such as, Aker Bryggen, Palace, Shopping Street etc. Try to avoid to have any problem in this hotel because they are not there to help you !!
Shopping Tip : At least there are a shopping mall near by, also small supermarket, Mc Donald , Pizza restaurants that you can take 2 mins walk to.
