Has history of an old world chateau, great gardens and rooms. All amenities of a modern 5 star hotel, including spa, pool (indoor and out), tv, sauna, etc. Rooms could be a little bigger but given its in a historical building no concern I had a great time staying at Quinta Das Lagrimas. The staff was courteous and helpful, the ground were kept very clean, my room was immaculate with doors opening out on to the garden. Bed was very comfortable, great down comforter and mattress. Spa was excellent, free to use pool, sauna, turkish bath. Restaurant was wonderful, obviously well rated with michelin 1 star and although pricey, worth the splurge on a delicious meal. Not in center of Coimbra but a 10 minute walk across the river makes city easily accessible.
