Couples Australia, July 21, 2012	Old style hotel near the river 4 Old pension style hotel, the only booking option on the website was a single when we arrived the room was the same but we had to pay 60% more to have two people in it. Room stank of smoke and ash even though it was non smoking, no air con, no lift, no english speaking staff. Location is pretty good just outside the city centre and near the touristy bit of the Douro. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: There is an elevator near the theatre which can take you down to and back up from the river for a couple of euros and save a pretty long climb.

I have been several time to Porto but this is great value for money. Rooms are newly decorated and spacious. and everything is just 5 to 10 minutes walking away. Perfect.
