Caro Golf Hotel Bucharest Info
A converted distillery, this modern four-star offers deluxe accommodations in a peaceful lakeside position. Five kilometers from Bucharest city center, the Caro Golf Hotel enjoys a quiet residential locale near Lake Tei. Combining newly-fashioned wings with the original industrial features of the former factory, rooms are modern and full of natural light, offering cable TV, internet and aircon. Wifi is available throughout the property and an ambient brickwork dining room sets the scene for breakfast buffet in the morning and international and Romanian meals in the evening. It�s a 20-minute drive to the airport from here.

Lobby bar fair prices. Bar in the cheaper part of the complex (Caro Club) was a rip off! Nine euros for a beer (the bar lady could not even give the price in Romanian money! She had to use a calculator!) The CARO is extremely confusing, since they use different sub-brand names on the same address with different pricing and classes. This had kept me busy for hours already prior arrival, as there was a room booked via AGODA for the the Caro Golf (4 star), but I learned that the reservation was made for the 3 star Caro Parc. On paper! it was corrected prior arrival, but at arrival they still said the reservation was for the lower class Parc. After discussion and presenting the voucher for the Golf they offered 3 nights Golf and one night Parc, as it was fully booked. .As agreed next morning packed and down to reception with suitcases. There they told us that we could stay in the Golf room!, so back to the room again.
They know that they are mixing up with the sub brand names, and that it is confusing. In the room you can find as well products printed with Caro Golf as with Caro Club!
It is really a pity that it ended up like this. You can see that it is a marvelous complex, of which they can build up -and they are still building!- a very interesting and attractive hotel accommodation, and -however not down town- an attractive location with easy access to the city and the airport.
When you can sleep properly -this is the minimum you could expect from a hotel in this class-, it is certainly value for money!

I would return there if I have the chance.
Restaurant Tip : Do not expect too much of the food standard which is lower than other European countries but still I enjoyed it very well.
