Luxurious and modern, this central hotel provides a more authentically Russian feel than can be found in the regular big name five-star hotels. Just a short walk from Tverskaya Avenue's high-end shopping and entertainment, the Peter 1 Hotel, or Peter the 1st Hotel, is well located for travelers wanting to be within walking range of the shops and sights. Rooms are warmly decorated with rich fabrics and tapestries and include flatscreen TVs, wifi access, robes, slippers and deluxe marble bathrooms. The Teatralnaya metro stop is close to the hotel and guests can walk to the Kremlin and the Bolshoi Theater in around ten minutes. The Romanov restaurant on site serves gourmet European, Russian and Mediterranean meals and nearby lie myriad restaurants -- the biggest problem is choosing one.

Old World in Modern Moscow
Close to sights and shopping. Rooms were clean and ell maintained.

We had a lovely stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The conscierge was more than helpful. She went out of her way to organise things for us and gave us directions to places. The hotel is old and this can be seen in it's decor, which is very charming. This helped give an expectation of old world service. We will stay in this hotel again when we return to Moscow.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The Kremlin, Red Square, St. Basil's Cathedral, Alexander Gardens, the underground shopping malls. All were great.
