Situated in the center of this historic city, this hotel is popular with many international guests as well as local business people. The hotel offers spacious guest rooms and suites complete with modern decor and comfortable furnishings. The Kyjev Hotel houses an excellent restaurant which serves delicious local cuisine and there are several popular cafes and bars just outside the hotel. The hotel is comfortably close to famous tourist spots including shopping malls in the area and many of the areas best museums. The hotel also organizes large meetings and events and features a large conference room which is regularly used for wedding receptions and also features a comprehensive fitness center.

I read many bad things about this hotel, so I was ready to have my horrible experience...So, imagine my happiness when I saw a big, clean, magnificent witness of Soviet Era, at only 50mt from old fashionable city centre!!! Room was clean, warm (with -5 °C outside) and quiet, the sight unforgettable: the castle and the UFO over the New Bridge were in front of me (I was at 14th floor)...Breakfast was complete, 1€ for a beer at hotel's bar, lunch at 3,95€... Just some stain (NOT FOR DIRTY!) on the floor into the bathroom...Then, mind to add a kit with shampoo and shower-foam, please! And, at least, a dryer... ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED!!!

Toilet seat with crack Hotel has very good location close to historical centre (walking distance cca 5 min.). Big windows with nice view over the town. Hotel staff is helpfull and nice. Breakfast are delicious with wide variety of food. It is possible to park a car right next to the hotel. Hotel is however old communist building and it is not maintained as required. Doesnt offer much luxury, but beds are comfortable and rooms offer relatively enough space comparing to some other claustrofobic places. Hotel offers also rooms furnished in traditional Slovak style (15th floor). Good chice for budget travellers.
Shopping Tip : Right under the hotel is located well supplied shopping centre opened until 10pm through the week.

accessibility, Staff can communicate in English,helpful and responsive to my need needs upgrade of their elevator and the door lock gets stuck sometimes but it add beauty to this former communist county- i like it as it is. I am generally contented with Hotel Kyjev, I got more than I expected including the neighbor from hell. I stayed at room 902 and had a neighbor from hell on my 2nd night of stay. They were talking and laughing loudly as if they were the only people on the 9th floor , they were even knocking on my door from time to time, but I never opened nor respond to the knock- they have mistaken my room to be theirs and since I haven't replied to their knock they think that the 9th floor is really theirs alone. But good enough,they served as my alarm clock and kept me alert and up for my early train trip to Budapest where i took my flight out.
I will recommend Hotel Kyjev for budget conscious solo traveler like me.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hotel Kyjev is highly accessible by public transportation. The historical sites are a short walk away and shopping center is even nearer.
