A good shopping mall very close, Glories
far away from the metro (10 minutes walk)
The hotel was really good and clean and the breakfast was good, and only 9 euros. Would stay here again!

A short / medium walk to centre - 50 euro's in a taxi from the airport
Clean friendly hotel. About 5 euros in a taxi to centre & 10 euros to beach. Rooms average size but very clean. Staff friendly and helpful, gave directions, booked taxis etc.
Would def stay there again.Good place to eat a few hundred metres down the road- beware of toast though - it's fryed not grilled! You can catch Tube to get around the whole of barcelona - it's cheaper than a taxi - you can buy a 2 day pass

Location: quiet, open and clean area with park, walking zones and bicycles tracks

My booking did not include breakfast, to pay it apart it was 8 euro (year 2009), which I think it is expensive.
Staff was not very helpful
I really enjoyed my stay in Amrey hotel on Diagonal Avenue. I have found the ratio conditions versus price very good. The hotel is located in a calm zone, it has easy access to public transportation, it has supermarkets very near, rooms are clean, they offer reasonable space, air-conditioning is acceptably silent. The hotel was probably rebuilt recently, elevators are quick and modern.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Funiculars might be a good attraction, but they are quite expensive. To go to Tibidabo do not use metro+blue tram+funicular, they will charge you (normal metro fee+ 4.10 + 4 euro), just use direct bus T2 form Plaza Catalunya for normal fee. Also to visit the castle de Montjuic, you do not have to use funicular, you can walk and reach the castle in 10-15 minutes. You can fill your bottle with water in the back part of the castle, it is not necessary to spend money for water.
