Literally atop the Sants train station, this big sleek hotel provides a superior level of comfort and express links right across the city. Geared for business and featuring many modern amenities, the Barcelo Sants Hotel is equally as primed for leisure travelers as it is for execs, given its position above Sants railway. City-bound metro lines and long-distance trains converge here, so a trip to the airport or Madrid is as easy as one to Placa Catalunya or the Porto Olimpico. Decor is business standard 'gold trim, functional spaces and generally agreeable design' and a wide range of foods are available without even leaving the premises, fine dining and fast food included. From here, the Sagrada Familia, Las Ramblas and Placa Catalunya are only a few stops away on the metro.

positioned on top of the railway station
lobby like a train station; staff not very service minded
the hotel is situated on top of the train station, which is a plus. However, you enter into a lobby, which is more like a train station than - a lobby. There must have been a number of conferences going on, as virtually hundreds of people tried to speak louder than than the other. Poor service and not very friendly service at counter. Room was OK; just OK.
Frankly speaking, the hotel is not that perfectly situated, as it is quite a distance from the real city center. OK, the open tourist buses has a stop just outside the hotel, but so have many other hotels. If you are, as us, going on an early train, it's OK. However, if not, choose something with a bit more style and charm.

right above train station, free internet, nice room
I wouldn't call it a 4 star (MAYBE a 3), staff were ok but not particularly nice, shower water had so much chlorine it was like being in a pool (but maybe htat's all of Barcelona?)
This hotel is great if you've been travelling a lot and want somewhere easy to stay. You can get there directly from the train station. The lobby/common areas are nice and the room is totally fine (safe, clean, etc). I wouldn't call it 4 star accomodation though, I think that is a little too generous. We didn't regret staying there and think it's perfect for ppl in Barcelona for only a few days as it makes sightseeing easier to be right above a train station.

Very clean and comfortable rooms
Very handy for the underground, trains, taxis and tourist bus.
We were in a party of eight and the hotel could easily accommodate us. We were able to get the tourist bus and used this to see the city. The staff were very helpful with out transport arrangements to the airport. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel as a base for a short city break in Barcelona.
