Located just minutes from the Barcelona seafront, Hesperia Metropol Hotel provides modern accommodation and friendly service for an affordable price. The hotel is in the city's Gothic Quarter, close to the famous Las Ramblas, while other popular sights and attractions can be reached easily on foot or by metro. There are 68 rooms, warmly decorated and comfortably furnished with mod cons such as air conditioning essential in the Barcelona summers - and cable TVs. An excellent buffet breakfast is served daily and guests can sample traditional Catalan and international dishes at the restaurant.

For all guest bookings with period of stay from November 1st 2012 onwards, a city tax must be paid directly to the hotel during check out for a maximum of 7 consecutive nights.

5* Hotel: A city tax of 2.25 Euros + VAT per person per night in Barcelona and Catalonia;
4* Hotel: A city tax of 1.10 Euros + VAT per person per night in Barcelona (0.90 Euros + VAT in Catalonia);
Rest of Hotels & Apartments: A city tax of 0.65 Euros + VAT per person, per night in Barcelona (0.45 Euros + VAT in Catalonia).

Solo travelers United States of America, April 28, 2013	comfortable, everything good except wi-fi healthy breakfast buffet . close to harbor & subway stop good bathroom & shower 7.7 was very frustrated by erratic wi-fi . rarely worked longer than 10 minutes without dropping offline. lots of nightlife in narrow street , so front rooms can be noisy until late.

We hadn't been to Barcelona before, so had no idea where to stay but did want to be centrally located so we could get to most places by foot. This hotel was in the Gothic Quarter, so really narrow windy streets with lots character buildings. We loved it. The hotel was only 10 mins walk to the port, Las Ramblas and Placa Real - what more could you Hotel doesn't look much from ourside but, airy and modern inside. Would recommend and stay again
