Very nice comfortable hotel.
Comfort, cleanliness, nice sized rooms, helpful staff, free WiFi throughout hotel. Close to El Corte Ingles Department Store.
8.7
Lovely hotel but situation was just a bit quiet for us. Hotel is in business district and more than walking distance to the centre of the city. We needed to take a cab to "where it was all happening" and for any sight-seeing. Very few Restaurants or Tapas Bars around the area but Hotel Restaurants were very good. ( We prefer to try eateries typical of the local area or country when holidaying and so travelled downtown for most meals).
We chose this hotel for our first night in Barcelona as we were to spend the following two nights here with a pre-booked tour with Insight Vacations. We were very pleased with the standard of accommodation and would certainly recommend the hotel to others.
Travel tip:
Just remember, in Barcelona people eat their evening meal at about 10.00 pm, in fact very few restaurants or tapas bars seem to even open until after 8.00 pm we found. If you wish to eat earlier, your hotel restaurants are the best bet.

absolutely worst hotel i have stayed in
4.3
i have traveled to 47 countries and still counting, my minimum standard of a hotel is 4 star, and most of times 5 star. as me and my fiance checked into melia, the lady at front desk complemented her engagement ring calling it shockingly dazzling. what was shockingly surprising was when we walk into our room, the room had 2 single beds! went back downstairs and talked to the same lady, suddenly other characterwas at teh desk. she was rude and said straightly the hotel cannot guarantee a single/king bed for 2 occupants, so if we are unhappy, there is nothing they cannot do!!!!!!!!!!
long story short, had to call in the manager and threatened to have a news conference going on at their lobby at my expense if they make me and my fiance sleep in different beds. finally they caved in.... about the rooms and vicinity area: while the bathroom is nice and upto standard, the room is maximum a 3 star quality. also the gym is a joke, also they try to charge you 20 euro if you use it!!!! unbelieveable. the area is close to the happening part of the city, but a cab ride away, and after 8pm the streets around the hotel gets very dead and quiet, a warning sign in the city of barcelona where it is common to hear about pickpocekting, robbing and other violent crimes. stay away from this hotel if possible.
