Great room, stylish & not that small

hotel is situated in an excellent position being so close to las ramblas & the boqueria markets (my favourite in the world, come xmas is has to be seen to be believed).
the shopping is close & all the gothic, rival & born areas have to offer is only moments away.
hotel refrigerator was not adjustable & really only set up for the goods supplied, an ice cream put in went soggy within a few hours.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Style comes before functionality when it comes to the toilet seat :) , Square in shape, it was different but still functional.

At first impression, the hotel looks great with the laptop provided in the room. With the hotel regards itself as high technology hotel.
However, during the 2nd day, there was an issue with the WiFi connection. Apparently, I was the first customer to find out the issue. Issue was resolved but was not sure for how long as I went out for my sightseeing. When reported first time on the phone, the hotel staff denied of any issue till I brought down my laptop and smartphone to show to them that it was down.
Only then, they agreed that there was an issue with the wifi.
In the room, hotel does not provide any teacups. So when requested, we had to collect ourselves at the counter. So much of a help for a 4 star hotel. Hotel service is ain't like 4 star hotel.
On the last day, the hot water was not working. With the cold weather, it just made it worse. I didn't to complain as I was hurrying to get ready to check out. We had to endure the cold water.
When checking out, hotel staff wanted to charge me for my stay. However, I told them there is a mistake as I knew that the hotel stay had been prepaid by my credit card. I had to show my credit card bill to proof it.
Overall, I don't really enjoy my stay here. Hotel staffs didnt make me feel welcome.

really enjoyed our stay for our one night in barcelona. i wish we could have stayed longer. there was much we didn't get to see. the staff was very helpful and breakfast available. only drawback was the construction/remodeling. i am sure the lobby and the entry will be great once finished.
have to say that the loud music between 12 and 2:30 was a bit much though. it bothered my wife and me but the kids slept right on through thank goodness.
Hotel Feature Tip:
If not traveling as a family and you don't need the space a room in the main hotel may be a bit quieter.

fantastic staff and great value.
the location of the hotel was excellent and the staff was very helpful.

It was our first trip to Barcelona and we didn't know what to expect. The room was spacious and they provided a laptop in the room for us to use. The hotel is close to the Metro stop and close to La Rambla but far enough away to avoid noise. I'll stay here again on out next trip to Barcelona.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The Barcelona Cooking School was a fantastic evening for dinner. The chef was very friendly and the meal we prepared was very good (soup, Spanish omelette, paella, Catalan creme).

It was great to have an early check in at 9am! It claims to be a 4star hotel (maybe local standards apply) but is seriously lacking in 4star amenities with only 1 F&B outlet (but lots to choose from outside). Rooms are clean albeit small and totally lacking in ambience...but there are nice touches like an in room computer and iPhone apadpter/speakers.
Restaurant Tip:
Forget about the hotel breakfast, get some authentic tapas or Spanish omellete from the nearby St Josep Market. Liceu Metro is also at your doorstep!

it was a little tough to find as it is in a side street just off la ramblas but couldnt be more central to walk to the best sites of the city. staff were friendly and the breakfast was perfect to roll out of bet and fill up before starting the day.
the room was quite modern and nothing too special but had a great shower and very clean.
maid service was prompt and friendly as well. all in all a great option for a few days in bcn.
