Would not stay here again

I saw a review saying there was secure free parking - it's actually €19 per night and for a small car it's a great underground car park, just next to the hotel. But it's a very tight car park for a big car. The hotel is tatty. The room itself is unusual for a hotel in that it's a straight square room so there is no small "buffer" area between you and the noisy corridor and this hotel was very noisy with kids running up and down the corridor shouting back to their rooms. There is no kettle or mini bar so buy supermarket water before you get there. The good news is the position is right in the old centro of the city so walk everywhere. The bad news is just around the hotel are some real scummy characters, they do ask for something but didn't harass me.Next time I will stay out of town and come in by taxi!

Lovely hotel, bus tour stop is really near the hotel. breakfast buffet is nice. friendly staff. the only thing i didn't like is that the hotel didn't have any fridge and kettle in the room.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
u can take the bus tour for two days and it's worth seing the city especially if you a little time.

the hotel was pleasant. staff was helpful and cheerful so it made a difference. free wi-fi was fast and consistent. breakfast was also good value for money.
but what made the difference was the location to the metro which was a breeze to use. to plaza mayor, it was a short walk away and there are sights, sounds and smells that make it all worthwhile. the palace real was also 2 stops away on the metro.
and to top it off, on sunday, there is a very big street market just behind the hotel. it's where you can get your souvenirs for a steal.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Depending on the days you are in Madrid, the Tourist Ticket is incredible value for money. At 13 EUR, you can take unlimited rides on the Metro and also buses in Madrid. It can even take you from the airport to this hotel.
It can be bought at the Information Counter at Terminal 2's Metro station, and also at Plaza Mayor.

Great location but lousy customer service

I have stayed in this hotel previously and despite giving them a second chance, they still have yet to impress me. The customer service provided in this hotel from their reception counter, conceirge, coffee house or house keeping has so much room for improvement! Other than the located near Toledo metro station, there're really nothing fantastic about this hotel.
Travel tip:
If you do not care about the hotel service, this hotel might be for you as the location is pretty good.

Good location with good price

i stayed in this hotel with my friends for 3 nights, the hotel is in a good location which is 3 mins walk away from the subway station. the decoration of the room is a little plain but it is not a problem for me, and sizes of the room is quite ok for two big suitcases. my friends did enjoy the breakfast in this hotel.

The stay at the Ganivet Hotel Madrid was very enjoyable. Most of the staff were very pleasant,and the breakfast good. The rooms were very clean and comfy. Only one English speaking Television program CCN.The hotel is very handy for all the points of interests and also handy for the Metro which we thought was great
