No free wifi

Good location, close to train station

Wifi is not free and the desktop at lobby is charged at per hour. We don't understand why the hotel will still charge such a thing nowadays. The hotel room is very clean and bright. Besides, I wanted to get a taxi to train station the next morning but were rejected by all taxi drivers (because it was very near to hotel). I explained to the concierge that I was not feeling well in that morning, that was why I need a taxi. The concierge just explained to me it was too close to train station this no taxi will go. I don't understand what function the concierge was if they were not there to find a way to help in my special case.

2nd time back to the hotel

comfortable room, good location, good room heating
8
This is the 2nd time we stayed at the hotel in the 2 weeks. This time, we arrived by AVE to Madrid to catch a flight the next day. The room standard is consistent with my first visit. Comfortable bed, good size, good heating, but with no free WIFI in the room nor the Lobby. Reception is helpful, friendly and speak English. We used the shower facility in the gym on the 8th floor after we checked out to freshen up before leaving for the airport in the evening. Note that you need to ask for towel at the reception before you go up and they will deliver into the shower room in the gym. There is no toiletries in the shower except for shower gel. There is no hair dryer as well. As opposed to our first visit, we took the train from Atocha Renfe to Madrid airport this time. It costs us 5 EUR for 2 of us and took 30 mins, directly to T4. No worry for carrying the luggage up the stairs as they are elevator and lift in the station.
Restaurant Tip: A friend recommended for us to check out La Mucca for meals. La Mucca have 2 branches, one in Malasana and another in Calle de Prado. We went for dinner without booking we couldn't find any seat in both locations. So, reservation is a must. We did reserve for lunch at the branch at Calle de Prado for the next day. The food is really good. My husband have the steak tartar and I have the lamb cutlets. We shared the Foie mousse for starter. The restaurant has a good selection of pizza which seems to be popular.

Convenient and comfortable stay in Madrid

Walking distance from main train station
7.7
Enjoyed our stay at Husa Paseo Del Arte Hotel. Away from all the crowd and noise of Sol and Plaza Mayor but within easy reach by metro. Walking distance to main train station, museum and the beautiful retiro park. Hotel stay was comfortable, staff were courteous. Dress warmly , it's quite cold in winter.
Restaurant Tip: The Sunday brunch at Ramses at Plaza Independencia (walking distance from hotel) is a definite must.

NIce hotel in good location

Near to Museum, park, restaurants and Atoch Renfe, room is well heated

We flown into Madrid from Dubai and had a sleepover in Madrid before we took the AVE to Sevilla the next morning. So, it was natural that we wanted to stay close to Atocha Renfe station. We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel which cost us 36EUR, which we found out later that you could take the train from the airport to Atocha station at a fraction of the cost which will take 30 mins. The hotel is within 15 mins walking distance from Atocha Renfe station and you have to cross a few traffic light to get there. And the road surface is not smooth and flat along the way which makes rolling the luggage a bit of a challenge, but we did it. Breakfast is not included in the rate that we booked thru Agoda, but there are plenty of places to eat around the hotel. The hotel room is very comfortable, good size for 2 persons, good bed and room heating works well. It is close to Reina Sofia, Prado, Caxia Forum, Botanic Garden. It is about 20 mins walk to the shopping area. It is a pity that there is no free WIFI in the room even in the Lobby.
Restaurant Tip: We like the Vertical Café on Calle de Almadén for breakfast, just round the corner from the hotel and besides Caxia Forum. Once you get out of the hotel, run right and take the first right turn that leading to an alley. The café is at the end of the alley. I would say 2 min walk. Their own make of chocolate batido is light and refreshing.

High class hotel at an affordable price

Very helpful staff and a cheap high class hotel

We reached Madrid at 8am and the friendly hotel staff allowed us to check in early for no extra charge. They also provided free ice when we requested for it. We would like to thank the staff for helping us to call the official Real Madrid store to help us check whether there was stock for a jacket that we were looking for. The room was fantastic and spacious. We would definitely stay there again. The only downside was that the location was a bit far away from the city centre.
