There are 94 comfortable rooms, several of which have a lounges and Jacuzzi type baths. Every room has been carefully decorated, in a classical style making excellent use of the high ceilings, large windows and light.

- a few minutes walk from SOL and Plazza Major, but in a quiet street
- free internet in lobby
- breakfast was good (10euro pp if not included)
- our room and bathroom was on the small side but other rooms were bigger(we had a cheap last minute)
combination of central location but no noise from outside. Restaurants, shops and metro very nearby

The bathroom was a little small
The Palacio San Martin is very well located in a square close to Puerta del Sol, Gran Via, the Opera/Palacio Real and Plaza Mayor. If you are visiting Madrid as a tourist then the location is ideal. The building is old, but the rooms are modern and comfortable and have good air-conditioning (very important if you are visiting during the summer months!)
