A very good location within walking distance of all the majour attractions (Plaza Mayor, Palace etc). Rooms very clean and a lovely shower. A lovely hotel bar seving ice cold drinks.
Didn't get the room we had booked (split level) and so our room was quite small. Told staff but they were not interested so reported to manager who gave us a small discount (30 Euro) off our total stay. It was the best we were going to get.
We were in Madrid for only two nights and so needed a central location. The Villa Real is perfect for sightseeing as it is within walking distance to all major attractions and shopping areas. It's clean and rooms are sufficient for a short break. The little cafe when you come out of the hotel and take a right is gorgeous for breakfast but closed on Sundays.
Restaurant Tip : The cafe just outside the hotel and turn right does really good coffee and snacks
