Intricate Moorish design and a central position make this hotel a romantic base for all Sevillian explorations. More like a palace than a hotel, the Alfonso XIII Hotel is an island of elegance and history a five-minute walk from the cathedral. Everything is grand - the building itself is stately and imposing, the central courtyard is a chic, luxuriously detailed affair and rooms are classically attired in a regal, opulent manner ranging from Baroque to Moorish to Catalan. Wifi is available in the lobby and in some rooms but this hotel is not so much for tech geeks as it is for the nostalgic who want to be lost in Seville's old-time ambience. The entire old quarter of Seville is within walking distance of here, and no matter how hot it gets, the garden setting and outdoor pool means there's always a cool place to retreat to.

The Alfonso offers a very special stay for those visitors to Seville. The traditional architecture and history of the hotel is very impressive. The rooms have recently been refurbished and the bedroom/sitting area is of a reasonable size. The bathroom is very well appointed and is provided with a full range of toilteries etc.
The staff are pleasant, the hotel well organised and clean. The outdoor gardens and swimming pool are of a large size with both sun and shade areas.
The restaurant and bar choice is excellent, with both casual, indoor and outdoor and more formal options indoor available.
Allow plenty of time for check out as it can be busy at certain times.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The Alphonso is centrally located for ideal for walking to all major attractions, Cathedral, Palace, Gardens, Jewish area and riverside walks.
Our experience of the river cruise was disappointing, with poor taped commentary and limited viewing and would not recommend.
